What does it mean to actually be a LEADER? There are many qualities that go into being a student leader in a classroom. George Cuoros asked a few elementary students what they thought leadership was: "To me leadership means to help younger kids and older kids and set a good example for every one I think leadership is when someone treats someone better then they would treat themselves." "To me a leader means being responsible, trustworthy, respectful and who treats every one fairly. I have shown leadership by treating every one fairly and with respect." "Being a leader means that you try your hardest to help others and participate in helping your community. Anyone can be a leader if they are committed to it and work towards a better future, or even just participate in organizing an event." "Being a leader means to help people that need help and to stand up for everyone in a tough situation bust most importantly being a leader means being a good role model." As you can see, these students feel ANYONE can be a leader. I feel the same way! Anyone can be a leader, will that be you? I am looking forward to seeing the future leaders right here in OUR 4th grade class! |
